PLACER GOP GROUP SUPPORTS GOV’S INITIATIVES

Auburn -- Members of the Republican Congress of Placer County have voted to endorse Governor
Schwarzenegger’s reform initiatives on the November ballot.

At a general membership meeting, RCPC members overwhelmingly supported Propositions 74, 75, 76 and 77, which are the main ballot measures Governor Schwarzenegger is asking California votes to approve on November 8th.

RCPC President Carl DeWing encouraged Placer County voters to help the Governor reform and rebuild
California. Said DeWing, “Voting for the propositions will help bring fiscal sanity and sound policies back
to state government. It will free the State Legislature from the controls of public employee union
bosses and prevent the out of control spending that nearly bankrupted the Sate of California,” said
DeWing.

The Governor’s measures include: Prop 74, which increases the time it takes for teachers to become
tenured: Prop 75, which stops public employee unions from automatically deducting money from workers’ paychecks for political purposes the workers may not agree with; Prop 76, which stops politicians from spending more tax dollars than the State of California has, and stabilizes education funding; and Prop 77, which takes redistricting of legislative districts out of the hands of the politicians and places the process in the hands of an independent body of retired judges.

Placer County residents who would like to help in a “get out the vote” campaign should call Tom Jones at (530) 885-0366.
